Šille will introduce an object and paintings from the recent period. The author remained faithful to the technique of acrylic on canvas, and in his work, he continues to develop subjects related to the generational feeling of the “Mc generation”, to which he was aptly included by the art historian Vladimír Beskid.
Šille's painting from recent years gains darkness, which also shows through the withdrawal from candy colours typical for his work during and after the studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design at the 4th Studio of Prof. Ivan Csudai (2000–2006), but also through his work with themes related to death or finiteness (for instance the paining Burial or his latest object Untitled resembling a child's coffin). His paintings are flooded with animals like sheep, dolphins, dogs and birds. Most of the times they are torn out of their natural environment and become part of complex systems of production and consumption (paintings Foodstock or Welcome to Our City, Dear Dogoil).
According to Norbert Lacko from the Department of Art History and Theory at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava “the hanging picture in Šille's work becomes an epitaph. Painted memory of the dead ones, forgotten, disappearing or long lost and missing things. Gradual increase of dark colours, substitution of the view from top by a frontal view or the pure black surface of the background, repetitive motives of the last sail, uprooted burning houses, emptiness and mainly death, loss, sadness strongly shift Šille to a much more tragic position, and force us to re-interpret his previous work as well”. Norbert Lacko and Vladimír Beskid are authors of texts on Šille's work, which are part of his first catalogue published on the occasion of this exhibition in both English and Slovak language. Apart from the recent works, the publication offers a selection of Šille's work after 2006, and therefore offers a wider look at his artistic programme.
